Welsh Wins Prestigious TOBY Award for Management of One Southwest Crossing

The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Minneapolis awarded Welsh the Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Award for the management of One Southwest Crossing in Eden Prairie, Minn.
One Southwest Crossing won in the 100,000 – 249,999-square-foot category. Built in 1986, this five story Class A multi tenant office building comprises of 239,119 square feet on eight acres, and is located across from Lake Smetana. The heart of the property contains a 16,850-square-foot garden atrium and 24-hour security guard station. Other amenities include a cafeteria/deli, fitness center, conference rooms, parking ramp, tenant-accessed balconies, walking path, and on-site management and engineering staff.
Welsh has successfully transformed the property with successful asset and property management in the form of debt restructuring, expense reduction and lease negotiations. The company will now advance to the regional level of competition.
The TOBY Awards are one of the highest honors of their kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing excellence in office building management in fourteen different categories based on size and facility type. Buildings are judged by all facets of building operations including energy management, tenant relations, community involvement, emergency preparedness, and security.
