Maple Grove, MN
PrairieCare, a psychiatric services provider, wished to expand their services and provide child and adolescent psychiatric beds to a greatly under-served area.
After PrairieCare became the first organization in Minnesota to gain an exemption from the hospital moratorium they enlisted the services of Colliers (then NAI Welsh) to assist with a difficult site selection for their new hospital to offer inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to children and adolescents.
Colliers worked with PrairieCare through a challenging site-selection process for the 23,700-square-foot facility. Working through legislative limitations and a narrow geographic scope, our team was able to identify a site and PrairieCare broke ground in August of 2010. Colliers continued to work with PrairieCare through the development process, assisting the tenant in lease negations with the developer, lending services through the grand opening of their new 20 bed hospital and outpatient clinic.
Thanks to Colliers, PrairieCare was able to open their new $6 million child and adolescent psychiatric hospital in Maple Grove. This new facility allowed PrairieCare to expand services into the west metro and offer expanded continuum-of-care services that will enhance the quality of treatment. The facility now is in the process of expanding, and is seeking to add 30 more beds.
