Midwest Real Estate News has inducted Jean Kane, President and COO of Welsh & Colliers International (“Welsh”), into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame.

The 2011 Hall of Fame issue, which highlights the careers of the most accomplished commercial real estate professionals in the Midwest, was published in December. This year’s 62 inductees were chosen from a pool of over 300 nominations, and were selected based on their tenure in the industry as well as their contributions to the real estate marketplace.

Kane was recognized for her historic and inspirational rise to “one of the most powerful positions in the Twin Cities’ real estate industry.” She was also inducted based on her past achievements and her current impact on Welsh and the real estate market as a whole.

Through her hands-on leadership style, Kane oversees the operations of the company’s real estate services group, which includes Brokerage and Real Estate Management (operating as Colliers International | Minneapolis-St. Paul), Welsh Construction, Genesis Architecture, Welsh Capital and FaciliTech. In her 26 years of experience, she has been instrumental in Welsh’s growth into a 300-employee firm, recognized as a top service provider throughout the Midwest.

Kane’s influence extends beyond the Twin Cities as well. She is a member of NAIOP’s distinguished National Executive Committee and has been named among the “200 Minnesotans You Should Know” by Twin Cities Business Magazine. Kane also serves on several executive committees for various local and national business associations, and is committed to working with other corporate and community leaders to cultivate economic growth in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota.
